Gene Anthony Whitley

Gene Anthony Whitley entered this life on August 23, 1973 born to Gene Whitley and Malinda Whitley and entered eternal rest on March 4, 2017 at the age of 43. Gene graduated from Colbert High School in 1992.

Gene is survived by his mother Malinda from Colbert, his loving children Jessica and Baylee Whitley of Platter, sister Stasha Burrola and husband Frank from Platter, two nieces Alexis Olguin and fiancé Josh of Durant, Danica Olguin of Platter, one brother Tommy Whitley and wife Tracy of Kemp and his grandmother Helen Wright of Durant. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gene was proceeded in death by his father Gene Whitley and grandpa TJ Duke and a very special niece Michelle.

Gene loved his family very much and fought a very hard battle with diabetes. He loved fishing, going to deer camp with family and friends. His girls were the light of his life and loved spending time with them.

A celebration of Genes life will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday March 7th at First Baptist Church in Colbert. Interment will follow at Garden Of Memories in Colbert. Brian Cummins, Tony Knickle, Otis Cummins, Ryan Cummins, Melvin Chastain and Randell Brown will serve as pallbearers. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday March the 6th at 6:00 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
