Bettie J. Weatherly, age 89, of Colbert, Oklahoma, went to her eternal home April 9th, 2026.
Born in Colbert, Oklahoma, on July 3rd, 1936, Bettie was the oldest of 4 children born to Frank and Helen White. She graduated from Colbert High School. It was in high school that she met her lifelong love, James G Weatherly, who she married in 1953. Before his passing, they were happily married for 69 years.
Bettie furthered her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, graduating with her Masters in Special Education.
Bettie was known for her love of God and family by all who knew her. Her family's care, loving and caring for her animals and well being were very important to her. When her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren needed her, she was always there, without question or hesitation. She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, and reading books. Even more so, she enjoyed taking walks in the woods with her dogs, watching deer pass in the fields, sitting on her front porch, visits and family gatherings with children and grandchildren.
Bettie and Gerald were parents of 5 children: Daughter, Vickie Varney and husband, Sam, of Colbert, Ok., son, Gary of McAlester, Ok. (deceased), son, Ronald (deceased) and wife, Robin, of Cartwright, Ok., son, Shawn and wife, Sally of Denison, TX., and son, Gregory and Brandi, of Sherman, TX. They were the grandparents to 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Surviving siblings are sisters Inez Scott and Frankie Craig. Bettie was preceded in death by husband James G Weatherly, son Gary Weatherly, son Ron Weatherly, parents Frank and Helen White, and brother Darrel White.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Weatherly, Trey Weatherly, Tucker Weatherly, Andrew Weatherly, Hunter Speers and Alex Weatherly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Morgan Chase, Cameron Chase, Jimmy Chase, Sam Varney, Layden Bell, Coltin Speers, Dillon Speers, Ty Weatherly, Todd Greenway, and Aaron Weatherly.
