Carol Yvonne White Moody, age 48, of Colbert, passed away at Baylor Medical Plaza in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday, December 31, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She was born February 19, 1960, in Clovis, New Mexico.

She married Timmy L. Moody on June 14, 1980, in Clovis, N.M. She resided in Colbert for 19 years, after moving to Sherman, Texas, from Hereford, Texas.

She worked at Dixie Finance in Durant. She formerly worked at McAlester State Penitentiary in McAlester as a prison guard. She had a master's degree in criminal justice. She also spent several years employed as a manager for Tractor Supply Company.

She is survived by her husband, Timmy Moody of Colbert; a son, Joshua Moody, and his wife, Misty; three grandchildren, Alexis, Kayleigh and James Wesley of Sherman, Texas; mother Gale Smith of Portales, N.M.; sister Renee Johnson of Portales, N.M.; brother, Jimmy Smith of Dallas, Texas; uncle W. D. White and wife Glendra of Slaton, Texas; sister-in-law Patrica Smith Moody of Snyder, Texas; nephew Jeremy Michael Moody, a combat medic serving in Al Asad, Iraq, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a younger brother, Justin LaRoy Smith of Clovis, N.M., and Wesley Woodrow White, papa of Shallowater, Texas.

She was a very affectionate and generous person who thought of others before herself. She attended school in Clovis, N.M., and Grady, N.M. She continued her education at Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas. She was an accomplished horsewoman and loved hunting and fishing.

Family visitation will be today at 7:00 p.m. at American Funeral Services in Colbert, with graveside services to be held at Colbert Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
