Alma Dean Cummins, 90, of Colbert, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Friday morning, December 25, 2020, at Wilson and Jones hospital in Sherman, Texas.

Alma Dean was born August 17, 1930 in Blanco, OK. She graduated from Pittsburg School and loved to talk about how she enjoyed playing basketball for the school. She married Otto Bill Cummins August 17, 1950, in Lindsey OK. They were married for 55 years and 9 months at the time of his death in 2006.

She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mattie Pitner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, son-in-law Arnold Medler, son-in-law Donnie Lemons, brothers, Russo Pitner, Jay Pitner, John Pitner, sisters, Marie Church, Sally Gooch and Emma Lou Perryman.

Alma Dean was a homemaker. She was known as Nanny not only to her own family but to so many others as well. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family and friends. If you came to her house and she thought you were hungry she made sure you ate. There is an unending list of who may have eaten at her table. If you said the word “GO” she was ready and willing for an adventure.

She is survived by her children, Alma Louise Lemons of Calera, Otto Royce Cummins and wife Joyce of Calera, Otis Bill Cummins and wife Susan of Calera, Bernadine Medler of Colbert, Henry Cummins and wife Kathy of Colbert and Robby Cummins and wife Teresa of Colbert. She has 15 Grandkids, 23 Great Grandkids and 4 Great-Great Grandkids. Many special nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Nanny will be greatly missed.
