Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Ward

Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Ward was born Tuesday, June 22, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lonnie and Oneta (Hudson) Ward. He passed from this life on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 in Denison, Texas at the age of 67.

Kenny was raised in Calera, graduating in 1972. He married Ellen Ward on July 9th, 1977 in Calera. Kenny was a Christian putting his faith in the Lord and was saved and baptized in his early 20s.

Kenny worked for Fisher Controls in Sherman for thirty-two years, retiring on January 1st, 2017. Kenny was a country boy and the true definition of a Man.

Kenny loved his wife and family all the way to the end. He enjoyed being around livestock, whether that was raising show animals when his children were younger or breeding American Quarter Horses later in life. His brand dND will be carried on to future generations.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Regina Beaubien.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Ellen, of the home; sons, Steve Hiser and his wife, Callie of Cleveland, TX, Jimmy Ward and his wife, Misty of Valliant, OK, and Earl Ward and his wife, Tanya of Oologah, OK; grandkids, Dakota Hanks (Ashley), Dannion Briscoe, Makayla Renfro (Billy), Addie Hiser, Lanie Hiser, Blaze Ward, Cutter Ward, Maverick Ward, Cash Ward and Case Ward; ten great-grandkids; a sister, Debbie Odom and her husband, David; and brother, Mark Ward and his wife, Terri; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 31st, at Burney Cemetery southeast of Durant, off of Hwy 78. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate. Casket bearers will be his nephews Stacy Jones, Joey Hobbs, Steven Potts, Brian Beaubien, Kayle Ward and Mason Hobbs. Honorary casket bearers are Kimmo Yli-Kojola, James Caplinger, Robert Clay and Scotty Ward.

In lieu of flowers, Kenny requested online donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.shrinerschildrens.org or mail checks to the Little Dixie Shrine Club at P.O. Box 1004, Durant, OK 74701 with “Mr. Wards Memorial” in the notes.
