Cecil Leroy Rice, 84, of Blue, passed away Thursday night at his residence.

He was born May 16, 1923 in Ardmore and was the son of the late Charles and Zettie McCartney Rice.

He was an Army veteran during World War II abd married Dorothy Maxwell May 5, 1948 in Sherman, Texas. He was a retired mechanic for Easters and a member of Blue Baptist Church for over 35 years and lived in Blue for most of his life. He liked to hunt and loved his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Stalnaker and three brothers, Loyd, Jack and Woodrow Rice.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Rice of the home in Blue, son, Maurice Rice and his wife Susan of Durant; daughter, Joanna Rice of Blue; grandchildren, Ashley Creason, Tevin Rice, Krystal Rice, Virginia Davis and Rebecca Ellis; great- grand children, McKenzie Davis, Ashton Davis, Cooper Davis, Kelsey Davis and Sajen Davis; two sisters, Dorothy Cooper of Pottsboro, Texas and Helen Roland.

Funeral services for Cecil Rice will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Blue Baptist Church in Blue, with the Reverend Randy Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bokchito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Eades, Charles Roland, Ross Phillips, Ricky Joe Phillips, Mike Nichols and Jim Terry.

Family night will be held Monday evening from 6- 7 p. m. at the Blue Baptist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo.
