Shirley Ann Shrum Heil

April 14, 1949 - March 19, 2026

Shirley Ann (Shrum) Heil, 76 of Bokchito, OK was born on April 14, 1949 in Ralls, TX to Alfred Leon and Clara Lucinda (Kirkes) Shrum. After a long hard stay in Texoma Medical Center for 84 days, Shirley passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 in Denison, TX with her daughter, Angela by her side.

Shirley met and married James "Jim" L. Heil on January 30, 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK and were married for a wonderful 59 years. Together they moved in 1981 from Moore to Bokchito, OK to become owners of Durant Optical for 27 years. She was a member of Big Creek Chapel Community Church. Shirley enjoyed crafts, thrift store shopping, swimming, going to casinos, painting, and working on their rental properties. She really loved the Texas Rangers and going to as many games as she could. Shirley also loved going on cruises and spending time with her family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers- Junior and Larry Shrum, and a son in law Robert Phillips.

Shirley is survived by her husband Jim Heil of the home, daughter Angela Phillips of Bokchito, OK, granddaughters Whitney Phillips of Bokchito, OK, Jennifer Wolfe and husband Dustin of Durant, OK and Stephanie Morris of Dallas, TX, grandson Dustin Phillips of Bokchito, OK, great granddaughters Heily Dunegan of Bokchito, OK and Khloe Dunegan of Durant, OK, great grandson Mason Dunegan of Durant, OK, aunts Bonnie Wright of Douglasville, TX and Louise Case of Stillwater, OK, sisters in law Marsha Watts and husband Marvin of Clayton, OK and Kay O’Rourke and husband Mike of Odell, IL and many nephews, nieces and dear cousins.

Funeral Service for Shirley will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 2:00PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK with Jane Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, OK. Pallbearers will be Dustin Phillips, Mason Dunegan, Eric Dunegan, Derick Burns, Justin Burns and Scott Harper.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Funeral Service in Durant, OK.
