James Alvis Clark, aged 83, of Bennington, Oklahoma, passed into eternity at his home on March 13, 2026. Born on June 25, 1942, in Honey Grove, Texas, he was known as a man of resilience, determination, and boundless love for his large family.
A self-made man, James was the proud owner and operator of Clark Trucking Company. His sheer determination and resilience served as an example to his children and grandchildren, inspiring them to pursue their goals with tenacity and dedication. James was not only a successful businessman but also a man of many interests. He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing or hunting deer, and he could build anything. A member of the Bokchito Church of Christ, his faith carried him through life's most difficult trials.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Janie; his wife Linda Clark; his son, Bobby Clark; and his great-grandson Hudson Jestis. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet of the home; his son, Jimmy Clark and wife Lequita of Bennington, Oklahoma; his daughter Shanna Williams and husband David of Bokchito, Oklahoma; his daughter Shelley Beauchamp of Bokchito, Oklahoma; his daughter Tere Dale Rice of Bennington, Oklahoma; his son Troy Bill Stoner of Blue, Oklahoma; and his son Cody Stoner and wife Tracy of Calera, Oklahoma. He was also a cherished "Papa" to 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
In the words of his family, "Remembering you is easy, we do it every day. Missing you is a heartache that never goes away." Indeed, James' memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his loved ones as they remember his work ethic, his faith, and his dedication to them.
Funeral services for James will be held at the Bokchito Church of Christ on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Ross Phillips. Interment will follow in the Bokchito Cemetery. Family hour will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home. Those to serve as pallbearers include Larry Goree, Garry Bell, Dillan Anderson, Mitchell Reynolds, Brad Reynolds and Brian Reddick.
