>James Browning, a lifetime resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma, left this earthly life on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the age of 79 years 8 months and 30 days. He was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma to James Leslie and Gertrude (Cobb) Browning on June 8, 1937. James married his best friend, and sweetheart, Linda Kay Freeman in Paris, Texas on August 19, 1980.

James loved his land and spent his life farming. He was a member of the Baptist faith. James enjoyed fishing and hunting but he especially liked to work with his hands building bird houses.

Mr. Browning is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Browning of the home; daughter, Melissa Hernandez and husband Efren of Athens, Texas; step-daughter, Trisha Arnold and husband Chad of Owasso, Oklahoma; step-son, Jimmy McCullough and wife Earline of Spring, Texas; granddaughter, Amber Schied and husband Ronnie of Lawton, Oklahoma; sisters, Juanita Deel and husband Douglas of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Melba Mitchell of Hurst, Texas; and other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude Browning.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday March 11, 2017 at the Bokchito Cemetery with David Kautt officiating.
