Mary Lou Pittman Parris went to sleep in death on September 26, 2015 at the Oakridge Nursing Center, here in Durant, Oklahoma.

She was a beautiful woman spiritually and physically.

She was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on August 16, 1927 to Maggie Pistubbee and Frank Pittman, who are both deceased.

Mary Lou attended school at Carter Seminary Indian School for girls at Ardmore, Oklahoma, Chilacco Indian School at Chilacco, Oklahoma up north of Newkirk, Oklahoma.

After moving to San Angelo, Texas she met and married Carl Parris by whom they had three children, Frankie Summers who took care of her at her home since she was bed fast until Frankie was contracted with cancer and died of a heart attack August 3, 2015 and buried on August 5, 2015. Then she was moved to Oakridge until her death.

Mary Lou began serving Jehovah God in 1952 and had faithfully served him over 60 years influencing other relatives to serve him. She lost many loved ones in death over the years and took comfort in the hope of the resurrection when she will be reunited with Paradise here on earth.

She leaves behind two sons, Lynn Parris and wife Claire of DeLeon, Texas; Mike Parris and wife Kim of Durant, Oklahoma, Step grandson Josh Lloyd, two granddaughters, Natalie Summers of Durant, Oklahoma, China Cualar and children of Comanche, Texas, Lynis, Ray, Cameron, Justin, Corina, also Bryan a US Marine of Pendleton, California. Mary has two surviving sisters, Ula Foot, Durant and Clara Gatlin and husband JT of Silo, Oklahoma.

Along with her parents, she lost Faye Mckenzie, Earl, Fred, Solomon, and Frank Pittman. Frank died in combat in France in the US Army September of 1944, she is also preceded in death by her sister Jo Bell Gage who passed in 1998.

Brown's Funeral Service will handle arrangements with family hour Tuesday night from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.. Services will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with burial at Bennington Cemetery. Brother David Altizer as a Jehovah's Witness will officiate.

Pallbearers are nephews, Lynis Goodman, Kenneth Floyd, Joe Gage, Saint and Ashley Torres, Darrell Cord, and Cody Ashenbeck, and great great nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Gatlin Burt Ashenbeck of Durant Bill Tingle of San Angelo, Texas also great grandsons Bryan and Lennis Goodman and Cameron Justin Cualar and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a brotherhood of Jehovah Witness.

The Choctaw Nation will provide a meal at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday before the service.
