Sylvia Corbett a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed from this life into the next at her home on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the age of 73. She was born in Platter, Oklahoma on December 31, 1941 to Robert and Vivian (Moffitt) Householder. Sylvia married Arnold Henry Corbett in Denison, Texas on April 24, 1959.
Sylvia was a member of the Bennington First Baptist Church. She lovingly opened her heart and home to many children over the years as a foster parent. Sylvia had a passion for collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia. She cherished time spent with her kids and grand kids considering them her greatest blessing.
Mrs. Corbett is survived by her children, Robbie Corbett of Spencerville, Oklahoma, Susan Corbett of Bennington, Oklahoma, James Henson of Durant, Oklahoma, Jimmy Henson, Master Sergent Jeffrey Henson of Panama City, Florida, Jessica Burch of Durant, Oklahoma and Elwin Williams of Durant, Oklahoma; siblings, Paula Cummins of Denison, Texas, Patsy Householder of Denison, Texas, Bobby Householder of Whitewright, Texas, Wanda Jackson of Soper, Oklahoma and Rita Fedder of Utah; and mother, Vivian Richardson of Bennington, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Corbett was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Corbert; father, Robert Householder, brother, Donald Householder; granny, Winnie Blair.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 7-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Bennington Cemetery with Bro. Daryl Bunch officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Corbett, Jeff Henson, Jimmy Henson, James Henson, Elwin Williams, Michael Burch, Wesley Corbett and Kristian Henson.
