Services for Clyde Alvin Cook, 79, Bennington, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bennington. He died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at his residence. Rev. Neil O'Donnel will officiate. 

He was born Aug. 28, 1926, to Jessie Albert and Cora Azalea Shoemake. He married Grace Maynell Norris Aug. 13, 1948, in Bennington. 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bennington, where he was a deacon. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, 56th Air Engineer Squad and 31st Air Engineer Group. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a crane operator, dozer operator and a rancher. He also served on the Bennington School Board for 15 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Bertha Corley, Irene Smotherman and Vera Kelso. 

Survivors include his wife of the home; sons Russell Cook, Bennington, Randal Cook, Bennington; daughters Janette Beal, Cresson, Texas, Annette Lindsey, Bennington, Sheryl Doughtery, Grand Prairie, Texas; brother Wiley Cook, Bennington; grandsons Barton and David Bullard and Kelly and Cory Cook; granddaughters Angie Pate, Cara Lindsey, Katherine Deavenport, Monica Dougherty, Sarah Rowland, Carol Cook; great-grandchildren Reese, Bradley and Jackson Pate and Hannah Deavenport and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Family hour is today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. 

Interment will be at Old Church Cemetery, Bennington. Pallbearers will be Edwin Smotherman, Sandy Kelso, Ronnie Kelso, Albert Kelso, Waylon Kelso and Daryel Kelso. Honorary pallbearers are James Alfred Draper, Leland Draper, Raymond Draper and Herman Draper. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the First Baptist Church of Bennington Fellowship Hall Fund, 310 S. Collins, Bennington, OK 74723. 

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
