Kathleen Marie Loosen Starks was born October 13, 1949, at Okarche, Oklahoma to Emil Carl and Dorothy Lee (Lehman) Loosen and passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 76.
Kathy grew up in the Watonga, Oklahoma community, graduating from Watonga High School in 1967. After high school, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. In 1969, she moved to Oklahoma City and worked for Western Electric until 1977. Kathy moved back to her hometown of Watonga, opening the Golden Needle, a fabric and notions shop. In 1986, she moved back to the Oklahoma City area, where she owned a video rental store the Movie Gallery for five years. In the late 1990’s, she became a liaison for military officials until her retirement in 2013.
In Kathy's life, she was a member of the 4-H, the Cedar Valley Home Demonstration Club, and St. Rose of Lima Catholic church of Watonga. Kathy was an avid genealogy researcher, loved traveling and spending time with her only grandson, Andrew.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Dorothy Loosen.

One daughter…………………….Shelly and husband Michael Kavanagh of Wichita, Kansas
One grandson……………………Andrew Kavanagh of Wichita, Kansas
One brother………………………Clay Loosen and wife Noelle of Omega, Oklahoma
One sister………………………….Christine Richardson of Watonga, Oklahoma
As well as numerous relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Watonga with Father Ben Lwin as celebrant. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
