Charlie Kenneth Brewer

Charlie Kenneth Brewer
May 30, 1933 ~ June 17, 2022

Charlie Kenneth Brewer was born May 30, 1933, in Watonga, Oklahoma to Forest and Lema (Hood) Brewer, and passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 89.

He was a resident of the Watonga community for his entire life, where he attended and graduated from Watonga High School in 1952. Kenneth was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1953, where he served two years, where he was an MP (Military Police). He worked for Farmers Mill and Grain for the Palicek Family for 30 years as a manager. He worked for Wheeler Brother’s Grain for over 20 years, retiring in 2003. He married Dorothy Duggan on June 18, 1951, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Kenneth was a member of the Watonga Booster Club, he was inducted into the Blaine County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2008 and received Honorary FFA Degrees from Watonga and Dover Schools. Kenneth bowled in the Watonga Bowling Men’s League years ago. After retirement he became a full-time farmer/ rancher. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and attended their many FFA activities through the years. He was an avid fisherman and he and his wife Dorothy loved to have fun and travel to various casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Louise; four siblings, Mary Maxine, Nina Erlene, Carl James, Linda Sue, and one sister-in-law, Janie Brewer.

He is survived by:

Two sons……………………………………… Kenneth Randall Brewer, and wife Laurie, of Bedford, TX; Kevin Brewer, and wife Sharon of Watonga, OK.

One daughter………………………………. Tina Gorman, and husband Mike of Watonga, OK.

One brother…………………………………. Eugene Brewer of Watonga, OK.

One sister…………………………………….. Carrol Yearwood and husband Frank, of Pampa, TX.

Three brothers-in-law…………………… Arthur James “Cactus” Duggan, of Shawnee, OK; John Taylor, of Watonga, OK; Frank Yearwood, of Pampa, TX.

One sister-in-law…………………………… Patricia Brewer, of Watonga, OK.

Six grandchildren…………………………. Christina Brewer, Calvin Brewer, Cameron Brewer, Dalton Brewer and wife Sarah, Shelby Cameron and husband Mark, and Shane Downey and Adaleigh.

Four great-grandchildren……………... Katie Brewer, Colson Brewer, Hayes Brewer, and Emersyn Downey.

As well as numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services for Kenneth Brewer will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga, OK, with Rev. Orval Peters officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
