Funeral services will be Wednesday April 14 at 10:00a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga, OK.

Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Richard Lee Bernhardt
January 11, 1935 ~ April 10, 2021

Richard Lee Bernhardt was born January 11, 1935 on a homestead in Watonga, OK to William and Emma Bernhardt and passed away April 10, 2021 at the age of 86.

He was a resident of the Okeene community for 64 years, where he was a Distribution Manager for Arkla Gas Co. and a lifetime farmer and rancher. He graduated Watonga High School, then attended Oklahoma State University. Richard was an avid hunter. He often enjoyed going rattlesnake hunting, as well as faming and feeding the cows. He enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends and attended Mt. Calvary Lutheran church. He was married to Velma Stoops Bernhardt at Eagle City on May 30, 1954; they were married for 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Emmalene Kopf and Darlene Till.

He is survived by his four children, Christy Linderman of Enid, OK, Pat Thompson of OKC, OK, Steven Bernhardt of Longdale, OK, and Sherri Flynn and husband Kenny, of Enid, OK.

One brother, Larry Bernhardt and wife JaQuita of Watonga, OK.

One sister, Donna Mae Davis of Watonga, OK.

Fourteen grandchildren; Keri, Dana, Michelle, Matt, Mark, Cassey, Joel, Eric, Darci, Lindsey, Kenny II, Kameka, Dezzarae, and Shuntae.

As well as 34 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Richard Lee Bernhardt will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Watonga, Ok with Pastor Orval Peters officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Burial to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
