Carolyn Joy (Stagg) Robbins
April 22, 1935 ~ January 16, 2025

Funeral services for Carolyn Joy Robbins will be held Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Okeene, OK with Pastor Gaylon Cox officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Okeene under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary.

Carolyn Joy Robbins was born April 22, 1935, in Erick, OK to Freddie and Ethel (Dowdell) Stagg. After a short illness she passed away in her home on January 16th, 2025, and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was 89.

Carolyn attended school at Hext, OK through the 8th grade and graduated from Sayre High School. While in school she met Loran Merrifield and the two were married on February 4, 1952. They were blessed with 4 children, Stanley, Linda, Joe, and Robert.

In her younger years Carolyn worked as a waitress, church secretary, and two years for the Department of Agriculture in Sayre, OK. They moved to Okeene in 1966, and she worked as a Nurse aid. After a few years in Okeene, Carolyn and Loran divorced.

She began a new job with U.S. Gypsum Co. where she met Armen Robbins. (She always said that the Lord sent Armen) They were married on June 12, 1976, in Okeene, OK where they resided for the remainder of her life. Carolyn went to work in the business office at the Okeene Hospital for 27 years and retired in 1998. She was also a local Avon lady for 25 years. (All the girls in the family were excited to see what Avon gift they would get at Christmas!) She was involved with many volunteers civic duties in Okeene including Meals on Wheels. Carolyn and Armen attended many sporting events in Okeene that her children participated in and continued to support the Okeene Whippets.

Carolyn and Armen are members of the First Baptist Church, Okeene. She taught Sunday School, served in the church kitchen and was a member of the choir for over 40 years. Carolyn taught her children and grandchildren to know Jesus Christ as their Savior! She loved the Lord with all her heart, she loved her family, and she loved her church family.

Her favorite Bible scripture was Psalms 138:8 "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Ethel Stagg, brother-in-law James Walker, and brother Leon Stagg.

She is survived by her husband Armen Robbins, four children, Stanley and wife Theresa Merrifield of Enid, OK, Linda and husband Steve Tinsley of Weatherford, OK, Joe and wife Kelly Merrifield of Stillwater, OK, Robert Merrifield of Oklahoma City, OK ; eight grandchildren, Jaree and husband Spencer Haines, Mandy and husband Kaleb Hennigh, Jason and wife Shelbi Merrifield, Samuel and wife Jovanna Tinsley, Sara and husband Seth Duckworth, Henry and wife Stephanie Merrifield, Zachary Merrifield, Madison and husband Blake Payne; ten great grandchildren, Braden and Taylor Haines, Karsen and Jase Hennigh, Sailor Merrifield, Asher Tinsley, Emerson and Ella Merrifield, Shepherd Duckworth, Kennedy Payne; two sisters Clella Walker of Owasso, OK, Joann and husband Ronald Waters of Burleson, TX, and one sister in law Mary Stagg of Tulsa, OK. as well as several nieces and one nephew.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn's name to the First Baptist Church of Okeene.

The Family would like to say "Thank You" to Valir Hospice for their compassionate care that they provided during this difficult time as well as the four special ladies that gave Carolyn tender loving care. Sandy, Dixi, Sue, and Darla. We are so grateful for you!
