ENID - Delores was born near Okeene on Aug. 20, 1930, to Elsie (Schultz) and George Rauh. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the age of 81 after battling ovarian cancer for almost three years.

She was raised on a small farm southwest of Okeene. In 1949, she moved to Enid, where she worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell.

Just before retirement, she began the installation and training on computer account systems for various governmental agencies, including the FAA and Coast Guard. After retirement, she continued that work as a consultant, traveling to many places around the United States, most often to Washington, D.C.

In 1984, she moved back to Oklahoma, making her home in Yukon, where she lived until her death.

Delores and her husband created a scholarship fund and endowed chair in memory of their son, Dr. Michael Metzger, at the University of Central Oklahoma: the Dr. Michael Metzger Endowed Scholarship in Economics and the Dr. Michael Metzger Memorial Endowed Chair.
