MARGARET ILENE McNULTY

OKEENE - The funeral for Margaret Ilene Beatty McNulty, 94, who died Friday at the Okeene Annex, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilkinson Mortuary with the Rev. Elton Kirstien officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Margaret I. Beatty was born June 25, 1894, in Kingfisher and spent her early years in that area. She married Homer McNulty.

She worked as a private duty nurse in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas, returning to Okeene in 1974. After World War II, she traveled to Europe, Egypt and the Holy Land and studied Biblical history. She wrote a book "The Arab and Jews in the Land of Canaan" published in 1957. She did individual research at Oriental Institute in Luxor, Egypt, and at American School of Oriental Research in Jerusalem.

Surviving are one brother, Dr. George L. Beatty of Napa Valley, Calif.; one sister, Thelma Palmer of Corona, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters.
