Thomas Frederick Crelly

Thomas Frederick Crelly
August 31, 1948 ~ January 11, 2022

Thomas Frederick Crelly, 73, of Eagle City, OK, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2022. Tom was born on August 31, 1948 to George and Neletta in Wichita, KS. After Tom graduated from Towanda High School (1967) in Kansas, he moved to Guymon, OK, where he meet the love of his life, Sally May Walker. In 1968, Tom joined the Navy and later that year on December 21, he and Sally married at Oakwood, OK. Tom was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1971.

Tom and Sally made their home in Eagle City, OK, in 1972. During their marriage they were blessed with 7 children: TINA, Paul, Tonya, Heidi, JULIE, Adam and Caleb (with two of those being spoiled a little more than the others). Every summer Tom managed to take his family on a two week vacation, each time at a different location. Throughout Tom and Sally’s marriage, they managed to visited all 50 states. The majority of their trips included extended family and Navy buddy, Tom Williams his wife Sandy and daughter Tracy. In 2009, after almost 41 years of marriage, Tom lost his partner in crime, Sally.

Tom was a jack of all trades, he wasn’t afraid to do or try something new. Just a few of Tom’s jobs were working at USG in Southard, being a roughneck, custodian, teacher, bus driver, farmer, welder, and he retired as a Drilling Consultant. While he was a roughneck, Tom also managed to earn his bachelor’s degree in teaching from SWOSU (1979). Tom loved wood working and managed to remodel their home in Eagle City all while raising a family and working the graveyard shift. One of Tom’s passions was teaching Tech Ed at Canton High School, where his TSA students went to National’s several times. Through every new job, the thing that he enjoyed the most was the friends he made.

On January 22, 2011, Tom married Kathy McReynolds. They made their home in Missouri. Together they enjoyed going to estate sales, camping and fly fishing. After almost 8 years of marriage, Tom lost Kathy in an accident that also critically injured Tom.

Growing up with 7 ornery brothers, Tom loved a little competition. Whether it was teaming up for the last 29 years with his son-in-law, Mike, to beat his brothers in Rook or trying to catch the biggest trout, Tom wanted bragging rights. Tom’s parents had taken the boys camping when they were younger and they still continue the tradition together along with their families.

Spending time with his grandchildren helped keep Tom young. A few of the things he enjoyed doing with them were camping, fishing, watching their games, playing video games, and eating Chinese food. No matter what activity or interest a grandkid had, he would try to take an interest. Which wasn’t always easy for him especially when a few of them are cheerleaders. Whether it was shooting guns, playing video games or talking sports, Tom always made time for them.

Tom is preceded in death by; his parents George and Neletta; brothers, Pat (George) & Steven; wives, Sally & Kathy. He is survived by brother’s, Mike, Jim, Tim, Mark and wife Annette, Dick and sister-in-law Judy; his children, Tina (Christopher) Hladik of Edmond, OK, Paul (Carla) Crelly of Centerton, AR, Tonya (Mike) Nix of Eagle City, OK, Heidi (Josh) Olson of Elk City, OK, Julie (Jeffrey) Schmidt of Cleo Springs, OK, Adam (Available) Crelly of Edmond, OK, but will travel, Caleb (Sara) Crelly of Canute, OK; Grandchildren, Ashton, Abby, Anthony and Ainsley Hladik, Elijah, Alyssa, Kenzi and Kylie Nix, Gavin and Zoe Olson, Tyler, Rowdy and Noah Schmidt, Charisma, Elanore, and Adalynn Crelly; and a host of nieces and nephews. (1-4-3)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Monte Michaelson officiating.
