Mary Nadine (Plummer) Cox
October 14, 1932 ~ March 26, 2020

Mary Nadine Plummer Cox, 87, passed from this earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 26, 2020 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Blaine County on October 14, 1932 to Roy and Anna (Nicolai) Plummer and grew up on the family farm west of Greenfield, OK. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1950 and married Robert Loren Cox of Eagle City, Oklahoma on May 28, 1950 in Canton, Oklahoma. They lived in Pampa, Texas for a short time, but returned to Eagle City to make their home. It was there they raised the five children they were blessed with.

Mary was not only a wife to Loren, but also his partner in farming and ranching, and in their businesses Cox Fertilizer and Cox Water Well. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as an adult and became a member of the Eagle City Christian Church. LuVena Cox and Mary Phillips were instrumental in leading her to the Lord. She faithfully followed Christ throughout her life. Quilting and ranching were favorite pastimes, and she loved being outdoors.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Lou Ann Wooley; one sister, Anna Zae Forney and husband Morris; four brothers, Joe Plummer, Curtis Plummer and wife Nettie, Evan Plummer, and Bill Plummer and wife Sue; one sister-in-law Twillah Cox; and two brothers-in-law Fred Joiner and Dean Schmidt.

She is survived by four children Alan Cox and partner Linda Stone, Joyce Barclay and husband David, Bryan Cox and wife Crystal, and Mark Cox and wife Amy, as well as her son-in-law Cleophas Wooley. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law LaDonna Plummer, Alsina Plummer, Joan Joiner, and Karen Schmidt; one brother-in-law Kenneth Cox; twelve grandchildren Lacy Greene and husband Chip, Tanner Cox and wife Jessica, Jennifer Barclay, Christopher Barclay and wife Katherine, Aaron Barclay, Lauren Weible and husband Joshua, Lauren Cox, Jared Cox, Kaitlyn Nichols and husband Brady, Mikala Wimberly and husband Colton, Regan Scott and husband Kelby, and Conner Cox; three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the Eagle City Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home of Canton. Pastor Monte Michaelson will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the Eagle City Cemetery with the funeral home acting as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
