The funeral for Chester Leroy Reichert, 86, of Longdale, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Canton Christian Church. Steve Driskill will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Cherryvale Cemetery, east of Canton. Arrange
ments are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

He was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Geary to Guy and Hope Hartzell Reichert and died Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Oklahoma City.

He worked for U.S. Gypsum before enlisting in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served in England, France and Germany. Following his return from the war, he worked at various jobs before returning to U.S. Gypsum, where he retired in 1985 after 39 years.

He married Alvena Quanantilla Hempel Dec. 17, 1949, near Southard.

Surviving are his wife, Alvena, of the home; one daughter, Oletha Acre of Canton; two sons, Guy Reichert and David Reichert, both of Canton; one sister, Mayola Phillips of Thomas; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant child.

The funeral for Chester LeRoy Reichert, 86, of Longdale, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Cherryvale Cemetery, east of Canton, under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK. Chester was born September 14, 1922 in Geary, Blaine County, OK to Guy and Hope (Hartzell) Reichert. He departed this life on Sunday evening, April 12, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked for a short time at U.S. Gypsum before going into the service during World War II, serving in England, France and Germany in the Army Air Corps. After returning from the war he worked for a time at various jobs before returning to U.S. Gypsum, where he retired in 1985 after 39 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, farming and spending time with his family and grandchildren; Chester married Alvena Quanantilla Hempel on December 17, 1949 near Southard, OK. To this union were born daughter Oletha Mae Acre, son Guy William Reichert, son David Kent Reichert, and one child which was still-born. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Wilbur; two sisters, Ruby and Viola; and one newborn child; Survivors include his wife of 59 years Alvena of the home; daughter Oletha Acre and husband Dennis of Canton, OK; two sons, Guy Reichert and wife Gayla and David Reichert and wife Brenda both of Canton, OK; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mayola Phillips of Thomas, OK; one step-brother Bennie Richey of Hobart, OK; many nieces and nephews; Memorials may be made through the funeral home at P.O.
