Barbara Jean "Bobbi" (Reichert) Brickman

Barbara Jean "Bobbi" (Reichert) Brickman
December 27, 1943 ~ November 5, 2023

Barbara Jean (Bobbi) Brickman was born December 27, 1943, the only child to Wilbur and Evelyn Reichert, and went to her eternal home on November 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. With Jerry Brickman, her adoring and devoted husband of over 48 years, they raised 4 children who went on to bless them with 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bobbi’s love for her children and extended family exemplified the unconditional, unselfish love that Christ has for us, accepting without judging, demonstrating empathy and forgiveness, while never losing faith regardless of circumstances, and following our scriptural instruction to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you”.

Her outward demeanor permeating her life in action and in spirit fully embodied the Fruit of the Spirit from Paul’s letter to the Galatians (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control). Bobbi had long ago professed her faith that Jesus is Who He claimed to be and remained steadfast and unshakeable in the knowledge that all her sins were reconciled by accepting the gift of salvation through Christ. Confident, bold and fearless, Bobbi enjoyed the “peace that transcends all understanding”, certain of the eternal life and atonement offered to whoever believes in Jesus.

Jerry and Bobbi loved to travel to Branson and took every opportunity to attend family events, achievements and holiday celebrations without regard to the sacrifice of their time and resources. Bobbi’s infectious laugh would light up a room and lift the spirits of those in attendance. Although she endured multiple health and physical challenges over the last several years, no one would know unless pressing her for information. Her focus was on others rather than herself as she undauntedly faced her trials with faith and perseverance, encouraging all who knew and loved her.

Although she will be sorely missed until we are reunited, we rejoice that we are blessed to be witnesses of her courage rooted in faith, godliness in the face of adversity and love for others.

Bobbi is survived by her husband Jerry Brickman of Longdale, OK; daughter Kimberly (Owen) Bierig of Hunter, OK; son Tim Kirk of Okeene, OK; daughter Kristi (Kenny) Divelbiss of Norman, OK; and daughter Tammi (Gerald) Jantzen of Okeene, OK.

Grandchildren include Andy Bierig (Luke and Noah); Jay and Sabrah Bierig (Braxton and Baleigh); Cassandra Grace (Chloe and Caroline); Tyler Grace (DJ and Summer); Keaton and Cassie Divelbiss (Cohen); Kenli Divelbiss-Faught and Alex; Kylen Divelbiss; Tara Wasson (Eli and Aidyn); and Ryan Bernier. Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Evelyn Reichert.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Canton Christian Church, Canton, OK with Pastor Michael Grigsby officiating. Interment will follow at Cherryvale Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be offered at
