A graveside service for Dorothy Mae Ward, 86, of Canton, will be 11 a.m. today at Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Haigler Funeral Home.

She was born May 6, 1919, in Okeene to Edwin and Martha Frank and died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in Enid.

She grew up and attended school in Okeene. She married Bob Smith in 1937. They had a farm west of Canton. He died in a car wreck in 1952. She later married Ina Ward, a retired Methodist  minister. They lived in Canton until he died in 1977. She worked as a cook for the Canton school system for 27 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Hoffman of Canton and Charlotte Jones of Fairmont; one son, Don Paul Smith of Longdale; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
