Bryan Mitchell Sankey
(January 20, 1965 - October 9, 2014)

Bryan Mitchell Sankey, 49, died October 9, 2014, with family by his side in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born January 20, 1965, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Floyd Sankey and Ursula Wallowingbull-Sankey. His father was a carpenter in Oklahoma. His mother was a homemaker.

Bryan spent his childhood with his cousins in barefoot. He attended Longdale schools and graduated from Canton High School in 1984. After graduation he worked as an EMT for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe of Oklahoma. He later moved to the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, where he worked for St. Stephens Schools as a bus driver.

He was baptized Episcopalian, but participated in the Native American Church as well.

His interests included spending time with family especially with his grandchildren. Although he enjoyed hunting and fishing, his favorite past time was gambling.

Bryan is survived by his daughter Bethany R. Sankey; brothers Garen K. Sankey Sr., Ford K. Sankey Sr., Ira Sankey, Byron Sankey, Bobby Sankey, Anthony Swimmer, Sheldon Sankey, Chubby Sankey, Robert Sankey, Crawford Sankey, Scottie Sankey, and Kacey Sankey; adopted brothers Mike O'Sage, Eugene Mosqueda, Dallas Littleshield from Arapaho, Wyoming, Joe and Bill Crazythunder of Arapaho, Wyoming; sisters Annette Bober, Vinita Sankey, Danette Hook, Angie Sankey, Barbara Walters - Sankey, Corliss Sankey and Dodi White; adopted sister Norma Fisher and numerous nieces and nephews,and grandchildren;

He is preceded in death by his father Floyd Sankey; mother Ursula Wallowingbull-Sankey; his daughters; paternal grandparents Robert and Madeline Sankey; maternal grandparents Wilford and Victoria Wallowingbull.

Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, October 15, 2014 at the Canton Native American Gym with Rev. Alvin Deer and Rev. Paul Beartrack officiating. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the same location. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
