Deceased: Dorothy Ann Rhodes Loss
Published 3-16-12

ENID — Dorothy Ann Rhodes Loss was born Feb. 9, 1953, in Pampa, Texas, to Guy and Lola Taylor Rhodes.

She started to school in Pampa, Texas, and her family moved to Oklahoma in 1964.

Dorothy married Ronald Dale Bromlow Aug. 19, 1968. From this union they had Ronald Dale (Butch) Bromlow Jr., Christi Michelle Bromlow and Donald LeRoy Bromlow. She later married William Kenneth Loss Aug. 31, 1979, and they had Catheryn Ann (Kate) Loss. They adopted Gypsy Susana Combs, Sarah Dawn Loss, Amanda Madison Loss and Brandon YoungEagle Johnson Loss.

Dorothy has always loved kids. She had worked at Canton Schools on and off since 1988 doing everything from working in the lunchroom to spending her days with Nicole hunting down puzzles, markers and ice cream cones. She and Bill have always had a special place in their hearts for children. Over the years they have touched the lives of over 100 foster children, many of which they still consider to be a part of their family.

Dorothy and Bill enjoyed 32 years of marriage and shared a love of family and friends. They enjoyed taking trips together and visiting the casinos. Dorothy loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was lovingly referred to as "Granny" by many children. There was never a time that their door was not open to whomever wanted to stop by, everyone was always welcome. No matter what was going on in Dorothy's life she always made you feel at home. You always got to hear a ton of stories while you were in her company, and she had stories about everybody. (Not always stories you wanted told.)
