Violet A. Hunteman

Canton – Funeral services for Violet A. Hunteman, 76, who died Sunday morning in a Bartlesville hospital, will be at 2 PM Wednesday in the Church of Christ at Canton.

The Rev. Robert Hamm will officiate at the rites and burial will be in the Canton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Haigler Funeral Home of Canton.

Mrs. Hunteman was born near Freedom June 13, 1905, and as a child moved with her family to a farm northwest of Canton. She attended the Wildcat and the Pumpkin Ridge Schools.

She and William J. Hunteman were married May 28, 1924. They lived in Oklahoma City for a few years and then moved back to Canton. Because of ill health, Mrs. Hunteman moved to Bartlesville in 1980, to be near her daughter.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Hunteman is survived by a daughter, Mary Hoffman of Bartlesville; three brothers, George Garman, Canton, Dick Garman, Blackwell, and Ray Garman, Putnam; four sisters, Iva Healy, Caldwell, Idaho, Frances Cravens, Putnam, Cynthia Schafer, Putnam, and Lillie Robison, Canton; three grandchildren and seven great – grandchildren.

Mrs. Hunteman was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennie Lou, and by a sister.
