Some of the highlights of his farming career were the awards he and LaVerle received. He was awarded Farmer of the Year from the Canton Community in 1988 and 2008. He was inducted into the Blaine County Farmer Hall of Fame in 2005. Willie was still very active in his farming. Willie’s favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing with his family. He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers; He is survived by his wife LaVerle and son Todd of the home; daughter Lanita Powers of Edmond, OK; son Jay Hoffman of Canton, OK; five grandchildren; ten (and counting) great-grandchildren; Willie enjoyed these children very much. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian.
