Funeral services for Julia K. Young will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Martin Funeral Chapel at Elk City. Visitation will be at the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre on Tursday and Friday. Burial will be in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre.
Julia K. Young was born April 9, 1917 on a farm near Berlin to Wesley and Ada French and died late Tuesday August 26, 1997 at the age of 80.
She grew up on the farm and attended school at the Berlin Commnity.
She was married to Bob Reynolds on December 3, 1933 and they had one son. She was then married to Roy Young on February 7, 1946 and he brought four children to the family. Julia chose nursing as a life long career while owning and operating the Erick Hospital, the Erick Nursing Home and the Sayre Retirement Center.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Raymond French; one son, Doyle Reynolds and her husband, Roy Young.
Survivors include; her children, Lani Ward of Richmond, Texas; Rhona Collins and her husband Mike of Sayre; Ervin and Janet Young of Dover; Dorcas Lucille Maloney; Meryle and Jim Johnston and Sue and Bob Jones all of Central Point, Oregon; two grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her sisters, Pearl Harrington and her husband, Marvin of Berlin; her brother, Wesley Leroy "Jim" French of Berlin; her sister-in-law and husband Emma and Herman Warkentine of Ft. Worth and her stepmother; Hazel French of Lawton; also her uncle; Ernest Wood of Payson, Arizona; an aunt, Alice Payne of Coosbay, Oregon and a host of other friends; Dutch and A.A. Robertson of Erick
