Selma Silillian McIntyre

Selma Silillian McIntyre was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Hot Springs, Ark and passed away Octo. 14, 1988 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 21 days.
Selma moved with her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Bertha Elizabeth Pope to Delhi, Okla. in 1928. On Jan. 13, 1940 she married Melvin Roy McIntyre in Sayre, Okla. and they lived in Silverton, TX before moving to Calif. and later to Erick in 1942. They also lived in Hydro, Okla. for a short time before moving to Sewwtwater in 1961 to make their home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons, 1 brother, 2 sisters and 2 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin; 1 daughter, Sharon Smith of Sayre, Okla.; 6 sisters, Corena Andrews, Dorothy Brewer, Jewel Brewer, Lethia Johnson and Holly Jean Hill, all of Sayre, Aline Swarts of Amarillo, TX; 2 brothers, Ted Pope of Sayre, Okla. Bennie Pope of Sweetwater, Okla.; 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday, Oct 16, 1988 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sayre First Baptist Church with Tom Cooksey officiating. Interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
