Funeral services for Mae Dorough are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Nazarene Church in Elk City. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.
Mae Dorough was born November 17, 1912 in Booneville, Arkansas to Rufus H. and Mattie V. Burnett Doshier and died Thursday May 30 2002 at Sayre at the age of 89.
She married Cecil M. Dorough in February of 1934 in Elk City. She was a homemaker and hospital cook. She was a caregiver to Ruby Walters.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Elk City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil; one brother, Thurmond Doshier; one sister, Rhea Chalfant Doshier.
She is survivedd by two sons, McKinley Dorough of Elk City and Darrell Lee Dorough and wife, Debbie, also of Elk City; one sister, Marie Doshier Viani of Lawton; one brother-in-law, Junior Dorough of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Marie Harned of Longmont, Colorado; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
