Funeral services for Truman Alexander will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church with Reverend J.M. Ashley officiating. Interment will be in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Sayre.

Truman Dwight Alexander was born on March 26, 1923 at Sweetwater to Samuel Robert and Elsie Mae (Stewart) Alexander and died Tuesday May 2, 2006 at the age of 83.

He served his country in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theatre.

He was married to Maxine Burge on August 17, 1946 at Hernando, Mississippi and they have lived in the Sweetwater area most of their lives. Mr. Alexander farmed and ranched during his working career.

Truman was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one granddaughter; one great grandson.

Truman is survived by his wife, Maxine Alexander, of the home; five children, Carole Russsell, of Phoenix, Arizona; Linda Banks and husband, Harvey, of Sweetwater; Beverly Keathley, of Sweetwater; Jerry Alexander and wife, Lisa, of Sweetwater; Sam Alexander and wife, Wilima, of Pampa, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Nelda Bowers, of Levelland, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
