Vincent Simon was born January 15, 1929 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Barbara Elizabeth and Henry Peter Simon. He passed away March 16, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Vincent grew up in Elk City and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1946. After graduation, he worked for McClellan Five and Dime for a period of time until finding employment with Natural Gas Pipeline. Vincent was married to Joyce Maxine (Pope) Simon at Clayton, New Mexico on November 22, 1950. In 1951 he was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado serving during the Korean conflict. After his discharge in 1953 Vincent and Joyce moved to Pampa, Texas where he was an accountant and business owner of Pampa Office Supply for many years. In the late 90's Vincent retired and moved to Elk City where he built a home on the land he grew up on and enjoyed flying his airplane, golfing with his family, restoring antique tractors, collecting coins and researching genealogy. Vincent was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church and also served with the Knights of Columbus, the Optimist Club and the American Red Cross.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Mary Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce, of the home; 4 children, Beverly Bowen and husband, Cecil, Burnet, TX, Barbara Stach and husband, Steve, Leander, TX, Bill Simon and wife, Robin, Pampa, TX and Sissy Curtis and husband, Jackie, Horseshoe Bay, TX; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 3 sisters, Cecelia Schneberger, Burns Flat, OK, John Simon, Elk City, OK, Bill Simon and wife, Peggy, Baton Rouge, LA, Carl Simon, Elk City, OK, Robert Simon and wife, Elaine, Elk City, OK, Ann Hale and husband, Ed, Norman, OK and Theresa Say and husband, Ken, Norman, OK; 1 brother-in-law, Billy Pope and wife, Carol, Victoria, TX and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
