A Celebration of Life Service for David Woodruff was held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Martin Funeral Chapel of Elk City with Daryle Perry officiating. Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

David Vinson Woodruff was born July 8, 1940 in Marysville, CA to Ewell Vinson and Beulah Emmaline (Barker) Woodruff and passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at the age of 72. He attended school in California before moving to Hollis, OK with his family.

He was married to Laura Rogers on April 25, 1959 at Hollis where they established their home. They moved to Canute, OK in 1981 and then in 1983 moved to Elk City where they have lived since. David retired from Beckham County as a heavy equipment operator, and then became employed with the City of Elk City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife: Laura Woodruff of the Elk City home, 4 children, Cheryl Sipes and her husband, Edwin of Elk City, Michael Woodruff and his wife, Connie of Choctaw, OK, Todd Woodruff and his wife, Kristi of Erick, OK, Jayne Harris and her husband, Jason of Erick, OK, 9 grandchildren, Justin, David Caleb, Alyssa, Cheyenne, David Elijah, Lauran, Kristen, Kolby, Adrien, 2 great grandchildren, Eliza and Theodore, one sister, Melba Sue Miller of Denton, TX and 4 brothers, Lonnie Woodruff of Sayre, OK , Wayne Woodruff of Hollis, OK, Buddy Leon Woodruff of Hollis, OK and Andy Woodruff of Arlington, TX.
