Marjeane Joyce (Vandenburgh) Werner

Marjeane Joyce Vandenburgh Werner was born May 16, 1933 in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Caroline Ida (Krueger) and Morris O. Vandenburgh. She passed away November 12, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 26 days.

Marjeane attended and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1951. She was married to Everett Charles Werner at Blue Earth, Minnesota on September 18, 1951. To this union two children were born, Charles Everett Werner and James William Werner. In 1960, Marjeane began her career working part-time for the Faribault, MN County Extension Office and the Faribault County Soil Conservation Service. In 1966 she went to work for the Blue Earth Medical Center, Blue Earth, MN as their clinic receptionist later becoming their clinic administrator which position she held until her retirement in 1996. Marjeane and her husband lived on their farm in the Delavan, MN area from the time of their marriage until 2006 when they moved to their winter home in Texas for a year while they built a new home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Marjeane enjoyed attending the United Methodist Church, Elk City, OK; was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Elk City, OK while keeping an associate membership at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Blue Earth, MN. Marjeane cherished her time volunteering at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center and playing cards and games with family and friends. Marjeane also had enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, fishing, spending winters in Texas.

She was preceded in death by parents, 1 son, James Werner and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Everett, Elk City, OK; 1 son, Charles Werner and wife, Sandra, Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Sara Wang and husband, Barry, Twin Falls, ID, Alex Werner and wife, Lareda, Elk City, OK and Kelci Werner, Edmond, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Kodi, Zachary and Joselyn; 1 sister, Genevieve Rolen, Denver, CO and a host of other relatives and friends.
