Terry Vinson was born May 29, 1951 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Iris Odessa and Edward Vinson. He passed away October 10, 2011 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 11 days.

Terry grew up in Elk City attending school until he graduated in 1969. After graduation, he began his career in the oil field traveling to Venezuela, Libya, England and Brazil. Later in his career, Terry was a mud engineer in the Oklahoma and Texas areas. In 1987, he was involved in an accident which rendered him disabled. After his recovery, Terry filled his free time with raising English bulldogs, reading westerns, collecting guns and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of Elk City Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Alexa Vinson.

He is survived by 2 daughters, DeLisa Lovelace and husband, and Arlan, Amanda McCollum and husband, Ryan, both of Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Karli Lovelace, Conner McCollum, Ava McCollum, all of Elk City, OK; 1 sister, Kay Vinson Beck, Elk City, OK; 3 nephews, Brent Beck, Brian Beck, Brad Beck, all of Canute, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Service:
Services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Elk City Community Church officiated by Rev. Judy Timms. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service
