Rodney Kline Unruh was born February 11, 1934 in Larned, Kansas to Ernest Wilbur and Gladys Marie (White) Unruh. He passed away September 5, 2019 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 25 days.
 

Kline grew up in Radium, Kansas where he graduated from high school. He attended Kansas State University before graduating from Ft. Hays State University with a degree in education. After graduation he furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he received his Masters degree in Teaching. He was teaching Business in Manter, Kansas when he met and married Flora Jane Libby in Elk City, Oklahoma on May 25, 1957. After their marriage they remained in Manter, Kansas where he continued teaching. They moved to Minneola, Kansas where he continued teaching until his retirement. After his retirement Kline worked with Jane at the Minneola Record. They were involved in many community activities and he was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where he led singing for over 30 years.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, nephew, Randy Logan and brother, Kenneth Unruh.
 

He is survived by 3 children, Marjorie Anderson and husband, Richard, Clinton, OK, Sheryl Hesser and husband, Randy, Carbondale, KS and Rodney Unruh and wife, Lora, Elk City, OK; 7 grandchildren, William Walter Chase Velharticky, Heather Daughtery, Cassandra Stutzman, Kyle Augustine, Chelsea Romaldini, Dakota Unruh and Libby Unruh; 7 great grandchildren, Alexzander, Reilly, Addyson, Mckynzie, Ethyn, Alex and Austin; 2 sisters-in-law, Valeria Jay and husband, Bill; Darlene Unruh and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Services will be held in the Whinery Chapel, Monday, September 9, 2019 at 2:30 PM .

Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City, OK.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Randy Logan Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Whinery-Savage Funeral Service, 403 West Country Club, Elk City, OK 73644 or The ALS Association PO Box 37022 Boone, IA 50037-0022
