Funeral services for Albert T. Trent will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.

The Rev. Albert T Trent was born on October 19, 1904, in Sneedville, Tennessee, and died May 12, 1987 at the age of 42. He came to Hammon with his parents and 3 sisters from Tennessee in 1909 and attended Square Top School. He started his ministry after his marriage on January 27, 1925 to Anna Belle fish. His first sermon was on November 9, 1925 at the Herring School. He served his Lord as a minister of the Gospel for over 60 years. They made their home in the Elk City and Hammon area most of their lives. He suffered a stroke some two years ago and in early December, 1986, he entered the nursing home. He was very active in the Elk City Ministerial Alliance, where he served in every office. He was the forwarding organizer of the Conference of Pentecostal Holiness Religion in western Oklahoma.

He is survived by one daughter, Alberta Ann Holley of Elk City; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Asbill of Elk City; his grandchildren, Jerry Don Holley, and his wife, Cindy of Edmond, and Meschelle Holley of Elk City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Trent, on March 17, 1987, and by two sisters, Kate Stancil and Bertha McLean.
