Cleo Betty Poore, 79, was born September 19, 1904 to Roy Aldon and Virdie Marie Garrison at Grimes, Oklahoma. She passed from this life Wednesday November 30, 1983 in Town Hall Estates, Sayre, Oklahoma.

Cleo attended and graduated from the Elk City High School and went to South Western College in Weatherford where she graduated. She taught school at Meridian, Grimes and Delhi Schools. She later worked for the Department of Human Services until 1969. 

On January 1, 1924, she married Virgil Poore in Elk City. In 1945 she moved from Grimes to Sayre. Mr. Poore died in 1958. On September 1, 1962, she married Mayo Cox in Dumas, Texas; he passed away in 1963. Then on April 6, 1979, she married Cleto Franklin and they made their home in Sayre. Cleo was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Virgil Poore, their only son, Charles Warren Poore, husband, Mayo Cox, and a sister, Shirley McBride. 

Survivors include her husband, Cleto of the home; step son, Lloyd Franklin of Grimes; step-daughters, Mildred Matthews of Ohio, Lura Mae Mogg of Cheyenne, a brother, Roy A. ‘Buddy” Garrison of Lewiston, California; sisters, Winnifred O'Hair of Lubbock, Texas; Leah Pool of La Crescenta, California; Salome Cooper of Jacksonville, Florida; Virginia Britton of Lewiston, California, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 5, 1983 at 2 p.m. in the Sayre Church of Christ with Eddie Bear, officiating.

Interment followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.

Active Pallbearers were Carter Cox, Lester Davis, Benjamin Olson, C.A. Wood, Bob Brewer and Gayle Harrington.
