Marvis Clinton Bustin was born April 13, 1938, in Hamilton County Fla. to Clarence and Carrie Mae (Smith) Bustin, and passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Great Plains Regional Hospital, Elk City, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 77 years and 9 months.

He was raised and attended school in Jennings Fla. At an early age he joined the Air Force and his last tour of duty was at Clinton-Sherman AFB in Burns Flat, Ok. where he met Carol (Walker) Bustin from Butler, Ok. She became his bride on April 24, 1959, when she was 17 years old and they spent the next 56 years of their married life living happily in Elk City, raising their family Robert "Robbie" Clinton Bustin and Robyn Renee (Bustin) House. Marvis was the most loving, generous and gracious husband, father and grandfather and was loved by all. He was employed in his early years as a painting contractor, and later for Elk City Schools as the Maintenance Supervisor, where he retired. He was an excellent carpenter, painter, and master of all trades, having built 2 homes for his family. He was a long time member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Elk City where he has served as deacon, Life Time Deacon, Elder, property committee member and always a loyal supporter of anything the church sponsored. He spent many years as a faithful volunteer for the Old Town Museum and Elk City Chamber of Commerce. In 2013 Marvis was diagnosed with AML leukemia and participated in the research program at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for most of that time until the present. He fought his long, hard battle 100%, the same way he lived his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Robbie Bustin, brothers Thomas Newton Bustin and Robert Harrel Bustin, sisters Ruby Mae (Bustin) Burnett and Lola Lawanna "Wannie" (Bustin) Smith.

He also has 4 great grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Rylee, Brodey and Allison Yeager and Brynlee Bustin all of Elk City.

He has always made a positive impact on everyone around him and he will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. The family wants to thank all the nurses and medical personnel that have given him such loving care over the last 2 ½ years.
