Beatrice "Bea" (Evans) Eggers
Cheyenne Star
11-Sep-2003
Submitted by: Wanda Purcell
Funeral services were held on Monday for Beatrice (Bea) Eggers. The services were conducted at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma.

Bea was born on September 2, 1906 at Terrell to Thomas and Margaret Wells Evans and died last Friday September 5, 2003 at the age of 97. She moved with her family to the Strong City area where she graduated from Strong City High School and went on to Southwestern where she received her teaching degree. She married Carroll Seay Eggers on June 7, 1936 at Elk City. They spent most of their married lives in the Hammon area. Bea taught school at Strong City, Hammon, Reydon, and Canute. She also wrote a column for the Hammon Advocate. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Hammon Fantasy Garden Club, and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Reim and her husband, Gary, of Richardson, Texas and Donna Bogle and her husband, Dennis, of Columbia, Missouri, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

During the latter years of her life, Bea and her husband enjoyed working in their yard. Everyone enjoyed driving by their home to view their beautiful flowers and trees. It was truly a showplace and they were very proud of it.
After Carroll's death, Bea later moved to Weatherford and lived with her sister, Menyon Cunningham, but she never forgot about her beloved home and friends in Hammon.
