Johnny L. Beck was born June 13, 1949 to Bobby Odell and Flora Wilma Jean (Penick) Beck in Perryton, TX. He passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 at Elk City, OK at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 8 days after losing an almost 4 year battle with cancer. 
 

Johnny attended schools in Elk City, OK, graduating in 1967. He attended college in Slapout, OK and Weatherford. Johnny joined the Navy Reserves after high school. Upon returning from boot camp he moved to Duncan, OK where he met and married Sally (Boyd) Beck on January 23, 1970. Johnny fathered two sons, Noel Brandon Beck in 1971 and Jonathan Levi Beck in 1984. He managed Beck Body Shop and Wrecker Service on north Van Buren in Elk City for many years. 
 

Johnny was a member and Scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of Lions Club International, where he served his local Lions Club as District Governor in 1984. He volunteered as a firefighter for the Elk City Fire Department for a number of years. He retired from Saudi Arabian Oil Company in 2011. After retirement Johnny enjoyed collecting old cars.
 

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Lynn Beck and an infant grandchild.


He is survived by his wife, Sally, of the home, 2 sons, Brandon Beck, Jonathan Beck and wife, Emmy, all of Elk City, OK, 4 grandchildren, and 1 brother, Robby G. Beck and family, Oklahoma City, OK along with a host of other relatives and friends. 
 

Johnny had a passion for his local fire department, so his family requests in lieu of flowers that bottled water and gatorade be brought to the funeral home and it will be donated to the Elk City Fire Department in Johnny's honor. 
 

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
