Marie Forgay

Marie Forgay was born February 15, 1953 in Canton, Ohio to Willie Bea and Charles Maynard. She passed away March 29, 2014 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 14 days.
 
Marie grew up in the Canton, Ohio area where she graduated from high school. She moved to Oklahoma in 1972 and was married to James Atteberry. They lived in Weatherford and Marie continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She later moved to Erick, Oklahoma where she met James "Sonny" Forgay and they were married on May 20, 1988. Marie worked for the Oklahoma Highway Department where she had an exemplary safety record and had received the "SEE" award and Employee of the Quarter in 2007. She retired in 2009 after 25 years of service. Marie was an active member of the Erick community where she served on the City Council. Her passion was being an EMT with the Erick Ambulance Service and was extremely proud that she was about to be named the Coordinator. Marie was known for her "Green Thumb" and loved cultivating and caring for her plants and flowers and fish.

She was preceded in death by her father, 1 son, Jaimie Ray Atteberry and a sister, Sherry Oldfield.

She is survived by her husband, Sonny, of the home; 6 children, Rick Jones and wife, Shawn, Shawnee, OK, Renee Calloway and husband, Mike, Elk City, OK, Justin Ford, Lawton, OK, James Lynn Forgay, II, Elk City, OK, Jodi Peters and husband, Alan, Edmond, OK and Brian Atteberry, Erick, OK; 20 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; her mother, Bea Maynard, Cleveland, OH; 1 sister, Betty Howard and husband, Rick, Cleveland, OH; 2 brothers, Marty Maynard and wife, Stephanie, Canton, OH and Gary Maynard and wife, Canton, OH as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held April 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at Erick First Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Charlie Floyd. Burial will be at Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
