Peggy Woodruff was born November 8, 1939 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Margaret and Harry Frank Webb. She passed away June 16, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 8 days.
Peggy spent her childhood and attended schools in Hollis, Oklahoma. During her high school years she worked as a waitress at a local restaurant. She married Lonnie Lewis Woodruff at Childress, Texas on November 1, 1959. They lived in Hollis for a period of time before moving to Mangum in 1964. Peggy worked as a waitress in the local hotel before being employed with Doc Goodman's Grocery Store. In 1976, they moved to Sayre and she worked at Puckett's Grocery Store, later Sayre Grade School Cafeteria and then finally SWOSU Snack Bar where she retired in the early 2000's. Peggy enjoyed traveling and going to the lake every weekend during the summers. She also loved cooking for her family and making sure they were well fed.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Johnny Webb, and a daughter-in-law, Dee Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie, of the home; 4 sons, Garland Pierce and wife, Susan, Locust Grove, OK, Rocky Pierce and wife, Ruby, Pratt, KS, Ronnie Woodruff and wife, Linda, Sayre, OK and Gregg Woodruff and wife, Donna, Sayre, OK; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Cathy Webb, Moore, OK; 1 brother, Billy Webb, Elmore City, OK; special friend, Joyce Smith, Sayre, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family requests Memorial Donations be made to New Liberty Church 11400 N 1830 Rd Sayre, Oklahoma 73662.
