Oleta (Worley) Spurlin

Oleta Worley Sprulin-- Oleta Spurlin was born January 1, 1917 in Rankin, Oklahoma to Emma Belle Cansler and Joel Marion Worley. She passed away March 6, 2002 in Hensley Nursing Home, Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years 2 months and 5 days.
Oleta grew up in the Rankin/Reydon community and graduated from Reydon High School.
 
She was married to Robert Spurlin at Reydon, Oklahoma on October 31, 1936 and they ranched in the Reydon area. In 1947, they moved to Sayre where they owned and operated the Plaza Motel and the Dairy Maid. Later, both went to work for Dorate, Inc. She worked at Dorate as the secretary until her retirement. Oleta was a member of the Sayre First Christian Church.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother. Services were held March 8, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Chapel, officiated by Marvin Garrison.
 
Burial was at the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
 
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, DeAnn and Dan Fairless of El Reno, OK.; one grandson, Jimmy Fairless and wife, Laurie of Sayre, OK.; three sisters, Ann Ellis of Sayre, OK., Virgie Wallace of Midwest City, OK., Jessie Creech of Colorado; two brothers, Jay Worley of Colorado; Lavern Worley of Choctaw, OK. a host of relatives and friends.
