Elaine Barker was born March 15, 1950 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Wanda Oneda and Floyd Leslie Wilks. She passed away April 3, 2017 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years and 18 days.

Elaine grew up in the Cold Springs and Roosevelt communities. She attended school at Roosevelt and just before her Senior year in high school, she was married to Larry Barker at Roosevelt, OK on June 10, 1967 and they moved Snyder where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Alladin Beauty college where she earned her Instructors Certificate. Larry went to work for United Supermarket and his job took them to several towns in Oklahoma where she worked several jobs and also took college classes at OSU. They moved to Sayre to make their home in 1978. Elaine worked at the Sayre Livestock Auction, McCullough Ford before going to work at the City of Sayre where she began as the Deputy Clerk and was later promoted to City Clerk. After working for the city, she returned to McCullough Ford and worked until retiring in 2010. Elaine was an avid horseback rider, loved politics and watching her children participate in sports. She was very caring person and loved her family.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimers Association

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Cherlyn Belt, a brother, Merle Wilks, and one of her many "other children", Jody Millar.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Barker, of the home; 2 children, Staci Barker and husband, Brandan Wilson, Sayre, OK, and Jeff Barker and wife, Stacey, Elk City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Larami Wilson, Cy, Boone and Quinn Barker, 2 sisters, Stanna Lee, Chickasha, OK, and Gayla Hite, Burns Flat, OK; her beloved dog, Sassy, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
