Edward Gene Sims was born December 19, 1966 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Delilah Lou and Bill Dean Sims. He passed away November 2, 2014 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Ed grew up in Sayre and attended Sayre School, graduating in 1985. Ed worked for a time in the air conditioner business until working in the oilfield. He later was employed with the City of Sayre for 15 years where advanced to become the Assistant City Manager. He was married to Angela Dowler Sims at Trinity Fellowship Sayre on June 3, 2000 and they remained at Sayre to make their home. Ed returned to the oilfield and worked as a Sales Representative until his health forced him to retire. Ed enjoyed being outdoors and liked fishing, camping and hunting with his brother, Will. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his a grandson, Brayson Gene Sims, a brother, Jerry Don Sims and a special uncle, Claude Chick.

He is survived by his Wife, Angela, of the home; his children, Brandon Wayne Sims, Sayre, OK, Meryah Sims, Sapulpa, OK, Brandon Ryan and Jason: 4 grandchildren, Braelyn, Riley, Reagan and Benjamin Edward; his parents, Bill and Delila Sims, Sayre, OK; 1 sister, Dianna Sims, Sayre, OK; 1 brother, Will Sims and wife, Marcie, Sayre, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
