Glendell L. "Glen" Kennemer was born September 21, 1934 in Carter, Oklahoma to Ester Velma "Bilbrey" and Vester Richard Kennemer. He passed away November 12, 2016 at Cordell, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 21 days.

Glen grew up in the Highway community graduating from Highway High School in 1953. After graduation he was married to Marita Lou (Knight) Kennemer at Sayre, Oklahoma on August 27, 1955. Glen was drafted into the United States Army where he spent 18 months in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1959. Upon returning he and Marita started farming in the Retrop and Carter communities and continued for 55 years. Glen's life was one of service to his country and his community. He served on the Carter School Board for 12 years. Glen also served the Lord as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at the Retrop Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed watching basketball and following his grandchildren during their activities and sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Wayne Kennemer and 1 sister, LoReta Westbrook.

He is survived by his wife, Marita, of the home; 4 children, Jennifer Hutson and husband, Johnny, Elk City, OK, Glenna Hise and husband, Louis, Hooker, OK, Kevin Kennemer and wife, Jessica, Sayre, OK and Blake Kennemer, Sayre, OK; 7 grandchildren, Landon, Chelse, Cole, Allison, Shelby, Tomi and Josie; 3 great grandchildren, Landry, Reece and Levi; 4 brothers, Ron Kennemer and wife, Bonnie, Edmond, OK, Bill Kennemer, Edmond, OK and Doug Kennemer, Enid, OK and Joe Kennemer, Edmond; 2 sisters, Sue Montgomery, Kentucky and Janice Wilmoth and husband, Don, Broken Arrow, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Retrop Baptist Church Building Fund in c/o Debbie Wilson 12128 N 2020 Rd Elk City, Oklahoma 73644.
