Memorial services for Leo Edgar Breeze, who died suddenly Thursday, September 24, 1992 were held Sunday afternoon September 27, 1992 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Sayre with burial at the Carter Cemetery, Carter, Beckham County, Oklahoma. He was 62.

Leo, the son of Agnes and Edgar Breeze was born December 17, 1992 near Carter.

He graduated from Carter High School in 1948 and attended Sayre Junior College and Southwestern State College where he received his B. S. degree in 1952 and his Master's degree in 1963.

He married Marlene Bell on August 26, 1951, at Sayre; and began a teaching career of 34 years. Beginning at Trail Grade School near Leedey, he continued for the next 14 years as math teacher, coach, and principal at Merritt. He moved to Sweetwater where he was Superintendent from 1966 to 1969. He taught in the Cheyenne School system until 1976 when he left the classroom to work for Magcobar Industries as a data engineer. In 1983, he returned to teaching math at Elk City High School where he taught until his retirement in May of this year. He was also on the adjunct faculty of SWOSU at Sayre.

He was a member of the Baptist Church for 41 years serving as deacon and in various other capacities.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Rod Kroutil of Edmond; and Jerri Lynn and Alan Headrick of Fort Worth; and one grandson, Curtis Alan Headrick; one brother and his wife, Harvey and Oleta Breeze, Elk City; five sisters, Rosie Johnson, Flora Thompson, Mary Mullenix, Dorothy Loyd, and Letha Bullard and her husband, Lee all of Elk City; a sister-in-law Hazel Smith of Leedey; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Deanna Bell of Elk City; his mother-in-law Willene Bell of Sayre; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Henry Breeze.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Elk City Educational Foundations, The Breeze Memorial Scholarship Fund at Sayre Schools, or the First Baptist Church of Sayre.

Services were under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
