Obituary for Earl Blankenship

Earl Blankenship was born March 4, 1931 in Retrop, Oklahoma to Lillian Mae (Parks) and Charlie Blankenship. He passed away October 24, 2014 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Earl, known to his friends and family as "Beaver" grew up in the Carter area and attended school at Retrop and Ocina. He along with his brother, T.C. Blankenship moved out to Bloomington, California where they began working in canal construction. Earl met and was eventually married to Maria (Frusto) Blankenship in the summer of 1978 in Bloomington, California. After their marriage they continued to make Bloomington their home until the early 2000's when they retired and moved to the Carter area. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching OU football, OKC Thunder basketball games, loved traveling with his step-son Bob and casino hopping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his son, Bob Bland and wife, Angie, Plant City, FL; daughter, Debra Bland, Enid, OK; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Bobby, Trever, Cali, Bradley, Athena and Christine; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Bert Blankenship and wife, Bobby, Amarillo, TX; 1 sister, Nora Witt, Carter, OK; special friend, Judy, Carter, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
