Alice Pauline (Stocker) Flies, age 90, of Elk City and Mangum, passed to her eternal rest on Monday, October 21, 2019.

Alice was born in Randall County, Texas, on August 19, 1929, to Leopold Stocker and Sabina Christina Friemel.  Alice attended Holy Family High School in Canute, Oklahoma. She met Lowell Frederick Flies, Sr., after he had proudly served his country in World War II, and on September 3, 1946, Alice married the love of her life at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Canute. Alice and Lowell made their home in Elk City. Shortly thereafter, they moved to a farm west of Burns Flat where they built a home. Later they moved to Clinton where Lowell was engaged in plumbing and then back to Elk City where Alice helped Lowell run their own plumbing business by managing the office and retail duties. In 1982, they sold the business and bought a farm in Greer County, north of Mangum, Oklahoma, where they farmed and resided for over 25 years. Alice and Lowell were married 63 years and raised 10 children. Alice was an active member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church, in Elk City, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Mangum. Alice was a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker. She loved to sew, crochet, and garden. She also loved baking and cooking. She and Lowell were always willing to help others whenever and however they could.
